Basic Current Accounts

Can you recommend a bank? Tell us who on our Forum

A basic current account offers you interest on your money and comes with an ATM card but with more limitations than a standard account. For young people or those with poor credit history, a basic savings account comes without Maestro, a chequebook or overdraft. Whilst this can be severely restricting, the plus side is you will have tighter control of your finances and reduce the risk of running up debts.

A basic current account can (in most cases) be reviewed and upgraded to a standard account when circumstances meet with the approval of your bank.
