Hi everyone,
I wonder if you can help me, I have been charged £450 by JBW bailiffs for PCN that was issued in August 2008 on a company car that I was driving by TFL.
I left the company end of August 2008, my company forwarded my details to TFL who then sent me the PCN which I then appealed the ticket and didn’t hear anything about it till April 2009 when a bailiff from JBW knocked on my door at 6:30am demanding the £450, I gave them a cheque for £200, and asked them if I could see their warrant because I didn’t receive any form of notice from Northampton County Court. Once they had left with the cheque, I stopped the cheque with my bank.
I made a Statutory Declaration at a Magistrate’s Court and sent it to both TFL and JBW Bailiffs which both parties ignored. I received threatening calls from JBW saying they will get a locksmith to break in and take all my valuables adding up to the amount they wanted. I told them I would pay in installments which again they ignored and I said I have £150 in my account which they took and told me to pay the balance of £300 by 11Th September 2009 (which was paid today). Before forcing me to pay this money today, I requested a full breakdown of their charges, to this their reply was ‘Just pay up’. I’m in arrears with my mortgage and am having to pay many bills on the side, I would really appreciate any advice you could give to help me recover my costs.
